Fit Guide

Motorcycle gear size chart

Built to Ride. Cut to Move.

We don’t follow fashion trends. We follow function.

Below, you'll find our fit instructions and sizing tips for Crank & Stroker leather motorcycle vests and jackets—built to move on the bike, not just stand still.

How Our Gear Fits

Every garment is cut with the rider in mind. Vests are the proper length with back coverage that stays put in the saddle. Jacket sleeves are slightly extended so when you’re in the riding position, your wrists remain covered. No short cuffs. No wind up the arm.

Important Standards

Our sizing follows U.S. military and classic tailoring standards based on average U.S. body measurements—no vanity sizing. You must measure before selecting a size.

How to Measure

  1. Stand relaxed with arms at your sides.
  2. Wrap a cloth tape (or a string, then compare to a ruler) around the widest part of your chest, approximately 1" above the nipples.
  3. Keep the tape snug, not tight.
  4. If your stomach/belly measures larger than your chest, use the larger number.
  5. Record the measurement in inches and compare it to the sizing chart below.

How to Choose Your Size

  • Jackets & Vests: Order by your actual chest (or belly, if larger) measurement on the chart.
  • Layering: If you plan to wear over a flannel or hoodie and you’re at the upper end of a size range, go up one size. If you plan to wear over a leather riding shirt or jacket, go up one full size.

Special Sizing Notes

  • Talls: Required if you’re 6'4" or taller (special order only).
  • Bigs & Talls: Available by special order only.

Use this motorcycle jacket fit guide to select the correct size without guessing. Proper measuring ensures your leather motorcycle vest or jacket fits cleanly across the torso and performs while riding.

🛠️ The Method to Our Madness: Motorcycle Riding Fit

There’s a reason behind every cut, seam, and stitch we put into Crank & Stroker gear. Motorcycle riding fit is different from streetwear — it must account for the body in motion, forward reach, and hours in the saddle. Here’s how we build with purpose:

  • Vest Length: Designed for proper back coverage in the saddle. No riding up, no exposed waist when you lean forward.
  • Sleeve Length: Slightly extended so wrists remain "somewhat" covered in riding position.(Depends on Bars) Prevents wind creep and eliminates short-cuff exposure.
  • Chest & Torso: Cut to traditional tailoring standards, not fashion vanity sizing. This ensures the garment sits close but allows room where you need it.
  • Layering Allowance: Built to accommodate real riding layers — from a T-shirt to flannels, hoodies, or even leather shirts — without excess bulk.
  • No Flash, No Fluff: Every detail serves a purpose: comfort, protection, and freedom of movement on the bike.

This is only some of the method to our madness — real motorcycle gear that moves with you, not against you. Built to ride. Cut to move.  You want to learn even more just click on the links below.   We take this stuff way too series.  Or do we?

Run What Ya Brung

You shouldn’t have to change clothes to ride. Our gear is designed to work on or off the bike — no extra flash, no fake tech, just fit that moves.

Behind the Stitch

Real gear deserves real design. Below are breakdowns of the technical decisions behind our patterns, materials, and why we build it this way — on or off the bike.

Why You Cut Me Short

Most brands butcher tall sizing. We don’t. This breakdown shows why length matters — and how we keep tall guys covered without the belly-shirt look.
